When
pruning your oak trees insure that equipment is
sterilized & wounds painted. A cheap black
spray is best, as it seals and allows the wood to cure
properly. For your peace of mind, insist that your
tree service complies as well.

Root
Grafts
Root graft transmission is the most common mode
of infection. Over 90% of all new oak infections
are transmitted in this manner. A root graft is
formed when the roots of the same species meet and
fuse together. The disease is then able to move
from the infected tree into the uninfected tree.
